At the beginning of April 2025, the British fintech company Revolut temporarily suspended registration for new customers from Ukraine. Existing users continue to use the service without restrictions.
Reasons for the Registration Suspension
According to the company, the suspension is related to the need to obtain a banking license from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). At the moment, Revolut Bank UAB, registered in Lithuania, does not have a license to provide financial services in Ukraine and has not submitted the relevant applications to the NBU.
What This Means for Ukrainian Users
- New registrations: temporarily unavailable for residents of Ukraine.
- Existing accounts: continue to operate as usual.
- Waiting list: Ukrainians can join it while waiting for registrations to reopen.
The company emphasized that Ukraine remains an important market for Revolut, and they continue to work on restoring the registration process.
Charitable Activities
Revolut actively supports the Ukrainian community. As part of the Clear Sky campaign together with UNHCR, more than £500,000 was raised to support people in Ukraine. The company also made an additional contribution of £200,000.
Alternatives for Ukrainians
While registration with Revolut is suspended, Ukrainians are advised to consider alternative financial services such as Wise, Monese or N26, which provide international banking services and are available to residents of Ukraine.
